Why are the ceilings of concert halls curved ?

The ceilings of concert halls are made curved so that sound, after reflection from the curved ceiling, reaches all the parts of the hall. A curved ceiling actually acts like a large concave soundboard and reflects sound down onto the audience sitting in the hall.
