The Parliament is the legislative body of any government.
Specifically in India, the Indian Parliament is the supreme legislative body of the Republic of India.
It is the bicameral legislature composed of the President of India and the two houses: the Rajya Sabha and the Lok Sabha.
The Rajya Sabha is known as the council of states and Lok Sabha is known as House of People.
Why do we need Parliament?
The Parliament of India enables their citizens to participate in decision making and in controlling the government. Therefore, it is the most important symbol of Indian Democracy and a key feature of the constitution.
