Ans. The ‘rule of law’ means, there is a rule in the Constitution of India that the law is same for every citizens of the Independent of India. Every law is same for the citizen irrespective of caste, religion, colour. The fundamental rights also comes under the rule of law. The rule is same for President, Prime Minister, or whoever.
Q.2 State two reasons why historians refute the claim that the British introduced the rule of law in India ?
Ans. There were many reasons why historians refute the claim that the British introduced the rule of law in India, there is two:
- The concept of Colonial Rule by the britishers was purely dictatorial.
- According to the historians of the nation, Indian nationalists had played very major role for the development of legal sphere at the time of British India.
